My interpretation of the Mad Hatter & Mad March Hare from 2010, worn by myself, and my wonderful husband ! Had a great time designing these and constructing them, as well as finally wearing them! The picture was taken as the West Hollywood Costume Carnival!
I wanted to put a spin on Mad March, so that it looked more feminine in nature. Was going for something along the lines of a 'cake inspired' design overall. Pretty comfortable to wear, with the exception of that steel-boned corset I made. xD; (Wore it for 6 hours that night, yeessh.)
Picture isn't the greatest quality, but you get the idea.
Such beautiful costumes, with a lot of texture and colours and...!!! You are really talented; a steel-boned corset is still very far from whatever I can achieve to make myself!
...Also, your husband has a terrific smile, and white hair suits him extremely well. FORGIVE ME. 8) /swoons
Thank-you, thank-you! Would love to wear these again as they were only really worn once.
It's really too bad we didn't get clear shots of the costumes in natural daytime lighting! Maybe I'll try to work on that, since I put a good 400+ hours of work into both costumes combined. :3 I bet you could tackle a steel corset just fine. Step one is just to try, and be fearless! <3
*giggles* I forgive you~ xD
Note: He's such a good sport for wearing all of my creations, too.
I don't even have to force myself to believe that 400+ hours went into the costumes. I wouldn't doubt that. I would *love* to see better pictures of both costumes. Your work is splendid
I wish I had a cosplaying boyfriend , Sounds awesome!
I will definitely post some better photos if I can snag a photographer who is willing. (Halloween is right around the corner, and we'll likely end up wearing them again!) And thanks again! I hope to design more within the "Alice" series if I can find models who are happy to wear 'em.
It is awesome to have a s/o to costume with! Highly recommend! x3
